Q Acoustics launches new 3000 Series speakers

Last updated on Feb 21, 2015 By Editorial Staff

Q Acoustics 3000 Series

Q Acoustics has launched the ‘3000 Series’, the range consisting of five new designs – the 3010 and 3020 ‘bookshelf’ models, the floorstanding 3050 model, a 3070S active subwoofer, and a dedicated 3090C home cinema ‘centre-channel’ speaker.

The new 3000 Series benefits from numerous advanced cabinet features taken from the ‘Concept’ models, including ultra-low resonance cabinet designs using dual-layer front and top panels, ‘pivotal’ internal bracing and ‘minimal’ rear mounted terminal plates.

The new 3000 Series tweeter is a revolutionary ‘2 in1’ Concentric Ring Dome design which promises the low distortion and extra wide dispersion of both ‘Ring radiator’ and ‘Dome’ type high frequency drivers. For ultimate sonic performance, the tweeter is also mounted into a butyl-rubber resonanc- cancelling housing.

The bass/midrange drivers use a cone material mix of paper/aramid fibres, while an improved crossover is a fourth-order ‘Linkwitz/Riley’ design boasting ‘audiophile’ components including ‘u-core’ inductors to reduce crosstalk between components.

The 3000 Series will be available in traditional ‘Matt Graphite’ and ‘American Walnut’ finishes, also in premium ‘Lacquered Gloss Black’, ‘Lacqered Gloss White’ and ‘Leather effect’ finishes.
